Some Apps Not Working on WiFi Properly - [Fixed]

Are you surfing apps and websites on WiFi? Does the page loading forever despite having a good internet connection? Does the page work with no issues on mobile data? Well, you're not alone. I have noticed this problem very often.

Google apps like Play Store, Google Search, and YouTube sometimes don't work properly when connected to WiFi. The apps say that there is no internet connection. However, it works without issues on mobile internet.

Apps like Netflix, Hotstar, and other streaming apps may not be working as expected when connected to WiFi. You may notice that some other apps are working well with the same WiFi connection.

This issue doesn't occur all the time but it can happen once or twice a day. This specific issue is not coming from the device you're using to access apps and websites.

You might be using Android/iOS and PC for streaming videos. If your device is paired with WiFi, you could have noticed that sometimes certain apps don't work over WiFi.

Devices connected to mobile data and wired broadband generally do not face this problem. So, the problem could be coming from the WiFi routers.

Restarting your mobile, forgetting the WiFi network, and re-adding the network may work sometimes. If you are facing the issue, you could try these methods. If this is not working for you, reboot your router and try connecting to the apps you want to load.

These are repetitive processes so, you can try another solution explained below.

Apps Not Working on Wi-Fi Fix

How To Fix Apps Not Working on WiFi

This blog post will discuss the 'Cloudflare 1.1.1.1' application to fix apps not working on WiFi issues. The application is available for Android/iOS, Windows, and Mac PCs. Let's begin the tutorial.

What is Cloudflare?

Cloudflare is an American company that provides content delivery network services, DDOS protection, SSL, and much more. Many Webmasters and Bloggers are utilizing Cloudflare's free and premium services. Cloudflare introduced a DNS query resolver app named 1.1.1.1 for Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac.

What is Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 Gateway?

Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 is said to be the fastest public DNS query resolver that speeds up your Internet connection. It simply forces your Internet service provider (ISP) to use Cloudflare's DNS query resolver. It will block your ISP from tracking your queries. However, it will not hide your IP address.

What is Cloudflare with Warp Gateway?

Warp is an additional configuration in the 1.1.1.1 app. Warp creates a secure tunnel to the nearest Cloudflare data center and then requests the page you like to load. This acts like a traditional VPN but it will not hide your IP address.

Let's see what option to choose to fix apps not working over WiFi.

Some Apps Not Working Over WiFi on iPhone, Android, and PC - Fix

  • Install the application on your device.
  • Launch the app and go to Settings.
  • For faster DNS queries, you can opt for "1.1.1.1". However, if you want to load pages that are not properly working on WiFi, you have to opt for "Warp".
  • Select the Warp and push the toggle button.
  • Then open the apps and websites to check if it's loading after these changes.
Whenever you experience the page loading issue on WiFi, enable Warp and you will be able to access the page quickly.

When Not To Use Cloudflare Warp Connection?

  • Turning on 1.1.1.1 or Warp will drain your mobile battery fastly. So, close this app after fixing the page loading issues. If you're using a PC, it won't be a problem.
  • Your original location will be changed when you use the Warp connection. It will show Cloudflare's nearest data center location instead of yours. So, in such a case you can use 1.1.1.1 for DNS or just close this app.
  • Do not use Warp when you're making payments through local apps. As Warp is requesting pages through an encrypted connection, it may confuse apps like Google and Apple pay. If these apps require you to turn on your location while making a payment, the transaction might get failed.

Conclusion

I have tested the methods instructed in this post and it works for me. Remember that you can use 1.1.1.1 all the time to make your internet queries private and fast. On the other hand, I would recommend you to use Warp only when you see certain apps don't work over WiFi.
